We took the train from Firenze to Siena but it turned out to be an inappropriate choice. Buses are better - they get into Sienna a lot faster. The journey itself is worth a mention - you would be crossing the famed Tuscan countryside in all its verdant green. We read somewhere that in those areas, they've taken to the exclusive use of organic fertilizers, and consequently, the greenery is amazing. We must have walked an hour and a half to get from the train station to the centre of town (and another hour and a half to return!). That left us quite pained to do much else. We went and parked ourselves in the Piazza del Campo doing even more people watching. Lunch was in a pizzeria in the piazza itself. This piazza is often regarded as the best in Italy. The town also has its own duomo, a fortress, and a garden or two. We bought some ties and also hunted for souvenirs. You will see a lot of souvenirs to do with Pinocchio - Yes! this character is a Sienese citizen.

Yeah, that was rather short 'coz that's all we got to do at Siena.
